About George Tavares
Experience, public service, and a record of action before election day.
I have spent years doing the work before asking Ward 7 residents for the job.
I am George Tavares, and I live at Hurontario Street and North Service Road, beside some of the largest construction and infrastructure projects affecting Mississauga. I experience the traffic, noise, business disruption, safety concerns, and pressure on local services as part of daily life.
I did not begin studying City Hall when the election started.
I began years earlier.
I have attended Council meetings, Regional Council meetings, budget meetings, committee meetings, public consultations, and community events. I have made deputations, reviewed public reports, questioned spending decisions, and worked with residents, City staff, Regional staff, elected officials, and community organizations.

My work has focused on three areas that affect residents every day
Taxes and accountability
I have reviewed City and Regional budgets, questioned spending priorities, and called for clearer public reporting. You should be able to understand where your tax dollars go and what results you receive.
Infrastructure and daily life
I have spoken about traffic, transit, road design, hospital construction, the Hurontario LRT, housing, and major development. Public projects should improve daily life, not simply produce announcements.
Safety and public service
I have advocated for stronger public safety, better communication, faster responses, and more accountable service delivery. Residents should not have to repeatedly chase government agencies to receive basic answers.
Background
My background includes business, political science, electronics and electrical engineering, project management, and smart city design.
I have worked on major technology and infrastructure projects in Canada and internationally, including airport, transit, security, and traffic systems. I have also worked with municipal, provincial, federal, and international government organizations.
This experience has taught me how to understand budgets, systems, infrastructure, technology, procurement, and project risk.
Why Ward 7
I ran city wide in 2022 and 2024 and received support from thousands of Mississauga residents. I also listened carefully to the advice I received.
Build a record from inside Council. Prove that the ideas can work. Deliver results locally.
I agree.
That is why I am running for Ward 7 Councillor.
This campaign is not based on promises alone. My public record includes years of meetings, deputations, research, interviews, reports, and community advocacy.
I have already shown up.
Now I am asking Ward 7 residents for the opportunity to work from the other side of the podium.
